Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the StayWithMe Android app and related services. By using StayWithMe, you agree to these Terms.

1. What StayWithMe Provides

StayWithMe provides AI companion chat, reminders, voice features, subscriptions, rewarded ads, and optional guardian contact alerts. The app is designed for everyday companionship and gentle check-ins.

2. Not Medical, Therapy, Crisis, or Emergency Service

StayWithMe is not a medical provider, therapist, mental health treatment service, crisis hotline, emergency response service, or substitute for professional advice. AI responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your situation. If you are in danger, experiencing a crisis, or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or a trusted person immediately.

3. Accounts and Login

StayWithMe may use Firebase Auth for anonymous login and Google login. You are responsible for your account activity and for keeping access to your device and Google account secure.

4. AI Companion Chat

AI chat is generated by automated systems and third-party AI providers such as OpenAI and DeepSeek. You should not rely on AI responses as factual, medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical advice. You agree not to use the app to generate harmful, illegal, abusive, or infringing content.

5. Subscriptions

StayWithMe may offer Free, Pro, and VIP access tiers. Subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing and managed with RevenueCat. Subscription pricing, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and billing terms are handled by Google Play and may be subject to Google Play policies.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Google Play account. Restoring purchases may be available in the app. Subscription features may include higher daily message access, voice features, longer memory, priority experience, or other benefits shown in the app.

6. Rewarded Ads

Free users may have the option to watch rewarded ads. Rewards are only granted when the ad provider confirms completion. We may limit rewards to prevent abuse or technical issues.

7. Guardian Contact Alerts

Guardian contact alerts are optional. If enabled, StayWithMe may send an email through Resend to the guardian contact you provide after selected periods without check-in. You must have permission to enter the guardian contact's email address. Guardian alerts are not emergency monitoring and do not guarantee that anyone will respond.

8. Reminders and Notifications

Local notifications and reminders depend on device permissions, operating system behavior, battery settings, and network availability. We cannot guarantee that every reminder will arrive on time.

9. User Responsibilities

You agree that you will not:

• Use StayWithMe for emergencies or safety-critical monitoring.
• Upload, request, or share illegal, abusive, hateful, or harmful content.
• Attempt to bypass limits, subscriptions, billing, ads, or security controls.
• Misrepresent guardian contact information or enter an email address without permission.
• Reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse the app or its services.

10. Availability and Changes

We may update, suspend, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Services may be unavailable due to maintenance, network issues, provider outages, app store changes, or other reasons.

11. Intellectual Property

StayWithMe, its design, software, branding, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the app only as permitted by these Terms and applicable app store rules.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StayWithMe is provided "as is" and "as available". We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for losses caused by reliance on AI responses, missed reminders, guardian alert failures, subscription platform issues, or third-party service outages.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, or create risk for other users, our services, or third-party providers.
